Map5. Offered here is a grouping of 4 volumes related to the docks and piers of NYC from 1868-1877. The premier volume is “The Wharves, Piers and Slips, Belonging to the Corporation of the City of New York, 1868. East River.” This volume contains 67 color plates of the various wharves, piers and slips on the East River with detailed descriptions of each. The other 3 volumes are of leases of these docks to various companies. Many are hand written, some have maps, all are signed, many have official seals, etc. A truly astounding collection documenting the history of NYC’s East River piers. The covers are separated on the Wharve volume but present. There is wear all around to the covers. The contents are in fine condition. I have taken some pictures as illustration but they only represent a very small part of the contents of these volumes. There is one copy of the Wharves volume available only for over $2000. That is without the 3 books of leases. [box] G. $950
