AM247. Beautiful, large tintype by Estabrooke, 31 Union Square, NY, of Lucy Ella Kissam, Mrs. David Ira Reynolds. The paper mat measures 6.75″ x 4.5.” This tintype came with a genealogical chart of the Reynolds/Kissam family and shows that Lucy was born May 20, 1849; her husband David was born on Nov. 18, 1847. The chart shows that they had, at this time, one child, Hoffman Kissam Reynolds, born Sept. 18, 1869. The chart traces ancestors back to the early 1700s. It’s great to find such documentation of a tintype which usually come as anonymous portraits. I believe that the photographer, E.M. Estabrooke is the author of the 1872 book The Ferrotype and How to Make It.” VG. $250
