Rotterdam Panorama (1881): Volkhart traveled to the Netherlands and Belgium to study nature, and in 1881 he presented a massive panorama piece in Rotterdam. This artwork depicted the historic victory of Maurice, Prince of Orange, over the Spaniards at the Battle of Nieuwpoort.
