Quarter-plate Tintype of a young lady. Housed in a thermoplastic wall frame with hooks on back. There is a crack on the right side near the top but frame is fully intact and strong. VG. $150

Tintype measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of two men. The man on the right wears a tunic, a garment worn by Roman men from the second century BC onward. The man on the left wears a long crimson robe indicative of high nobility. The tights are a standard costume accessory for 19th century thespians, worn even in period roles for which tights would be historically inappropriate, probably to meet the standards of Victorian modesty. Pair of cased wedding tintypes, a bride and groom. Images are 3 3/4" x 2 1/2." A truly beautiful pair, great tinting. The woman looks extraordinarily contemporary. Both image with mats and glass, housed in a full leather case, repaired at spine. VG. $300

Tintype, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" of 4 tough guys, gun, whip, western hats, cigars. Photographer's head clamp on right. These are the real fellows, not dress-up. G. $175

Tintype, 3.25" x 2.5" of a jauntily posed sailor who is obviously happy to see you. VG. $250


PPTT43.
Ninth-plate tintype of a man wearing a ribbon. There is a portion of a black ribbon behind the image. One can only assume it is the same ribbon that he is wearing. Since the ribbon is black my guess is that he is wearing an armband as well as the ribbon his chest but I can't see it as the image is somewhat dark. Housed in a full leather case repaired at spine. VG. $50
