NJ GOVERNOR ABBETT AT BATTLE OF MONMOUTH MONUMENT DEDICATION. Imperial Card measuring 7" x 10" by E.M. Bidwell of Union Square, NY showing Governor Leon Abbett of New Jersey (1836-1894) and his guards and staff on November 13, 1884 at the Dedication of the monument for the Battle of Monmouth. Abbett, known as "the great commoner" was the governor of NJ 1884-1887; and 1890-1893. On the back of this card is written "Papa in Governor Abbetts staff in New Jersey." Another copy of this image which I have indicates that it was taken at the monument dedication. VG. $50

GUARD TO NJ GOVERNOR ABBETT. Panel Card measuring 8 1/4" x 4" by Henkel of Jersey City Heights, NJ of a guard who was part of Governor Leon Abbett's staff. Abbett (1836-1894), known as "the great commoner" was the governor of NJ 1884-1887; and 1890-1893. This man is seen posed just to the right of the governor in NJBD1 above. VG. $25
